Every time we take a trip there is a point at which I know that I don't want to go back to civilization and when we reached the Grand Canyon I knew I had reached that point on this trip. It is simply magnificent. If you have never been there, go. If I were forty years younger I would grab my kayak, my backpack and spend a winter camping in the canyon. Here are some pics of the south rim. We started there and then went to the north rim. More on that on my next post. My pictures do not do justice to the beauty of this place. We did see quite a lot of wildlife, including a rare California Condor. These magnificent birds have a wingspan of up to nine feet and are the largest north American birds.
